Anette Lohmander is Professor and Head of Division of Speech and Language Pathology, Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden.
She graduated as a speech and language pathologist from the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden 1982.
Anette completed her PhD in 1996, became associate professor in 2003, and professor in 2007 at University of Gothenburg. She was appointed professor in speech and language pathology at Karolinska Institutet 2008.
She has accumulated more than 30 years experience of clinical work and research in patients with cleft palate at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg and at the Craniofacial Centre at Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm.
She has been involved in several long term outcome studies including Eurocran, Scandcleft, Eurocleftnet, TOPS trial and ICHOM cleft palate for improved and evidence based clinical care.
She is extremely widely published and her main research areas include, investigation of speech production and early speech development in children with cleft palate related to primary surgery and hearing.
